On September 15, 2000, I thought I had a good 20 days to go before Will came into my life. That morning, I got up like every other day doing the morning routine. I felt good and decided to go to Montgomery with Mama, Liz and Lacey. We shopped all day and then came home and went to Pam’s Kelly’s Kids party. That was when Pam lived in the house on the big hill! I walked up it no big deal! Jason was working nights, even on the weekend. And when he was at work on the weekend I was usually always with Billy and Richelle. The 3 of us went to eat at the Half Shell and then decided we would go to the CHHS football game. We parked at the Presbyterian Church and walked over. Stayed until it was almost over and then headed home. I went straight to bed! I can remember sleeping so well and barely heard Jason come in around 1:00am, may been later not real sure. I can remember feeling him get in the bed and shortly after that I felt something. I got up and went to the bathroom. I thought it may be my water breaking but then again, when I asked Dr. A how I would know if my water broke he said “oh you will know, it will come right down your leg and into your shoe!” Well, since I was laying down, it didn’t exactly do that!! I went back to bed and just laid there wondering what to do, then I decided I would pray and ask God, if it is time for Will to come and this is my water breaking, would you please give me more of a sign. About 10 minutes later He heard my prayer and GUSH!! Poor Jason, he had just gotten settled in bed! Up we got, called our parents and out the door we went! I was rather calm, Jason on the other hand was not. He was driving 70mph down our street. Those of you who know Jason know he doesn’t speed! We got to the hospital and I think the nurse thought I didn’t really know if it was my water that broke. She figured it out and got things started. After being in labor almost 12 hours, Will finally made his arrival at 3:16 pm. That sweet precious baby weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 21 in long. Today, September 16, 2011, my sweet precious baby is the same height as me! He is every bit the little boy I prayed for. Even though he gives me a hard time, and his brothers too, he is the kindest most loving 11 year old I know to others. He is a hard worker and one with good manners. I am so proud of him and the young man he is becoming. I can’t believe it has been 11 years since Jason and I walked out of the hospital with him not having a clue as to what we were doing! He taught us more than we ever needed to know about how to be a parent! He has been a great teacher!! I am looking forward to watching him as he begins a new stage in his life! He goes to middle school next year and he will begin that “change”! He told his uncle Will he was ready for middle school because he is so tired of walking in the 2nd square at school!! I guess after 6 years of doing it, it does get old! Little does he know he’ll have new rules for walking in the hall at the middle school!Happy Birthday Baby Will! I know you aren’t much of a baby, but you will always be my “Baby Will” I love you!!!
