Roll Tide!!

Here is Kate and the boys last year on her second Alabama Game. I had looked everywhere for that dress for her to wear. This was her first Alabama/Auburn game. Of course we lost but we had fun anyway.
Here is Kate and the boys today. She is wearing the same dress she wore last year except today it was worn as a shirt!! And it halftime now and she has been asleep since before kickoff! I guess that means we will be up again tonight at 3am! Anyway, Roll Tide! Hopefully we can keep winning!!

Sweet Baby Love

Kate went to her first CHHS football game last night and was so good. She had an off day with everything and so she was not ready for dinner before we left to go to the game. She had only 1 nap and had just fallen asleep when we got there. I tried to keep her asleep but it just did not happen! She was so into to everything at the game and just sat in my lap most of the night. She feel asleep on our way home and we woke her up when we got home to put on her pjs and give her a bottle. I gave her a bottle with some cereal in it since she would not eat anything at the game either. I was in high hopes that the cereal bottle would do but at 3am the little princess was crying because she was hungry! I got up and gave her a bottle and she was just about asleep so I went to lay her in her bed and up on all fours she goes! I took her and laid her in the bed with me and she laid there quietly and watched the Brady Bunch but as soon as it was over and Leave it to Beaver came on, she was done. I got up ans tried to rock her again but she didn't want to go to sleep. She is the best at fighting sleep. Finally at 4:08am I put her in her bed to cry it out.I decided that if she was not asleep or lying down and quiet by 4:20 I would get her up and try again. Well, at 4:19 I looked over at the video monitor and this is what I saw. How precious is that sweet baby love!!! I had to get my camera and take her picture. Of course after I took the picture and tried to move her she woke up again but as soon as I sat down with her she was out again and laid down with no trouble! I just love her so!!!

Playing in the Rain!

Read the post below for details of these videos. I hope they make you smile as big as me and Jason were as we were watching them!!

Oh what fun you can have in the Rain!!

So, Fay has set up camp in Troy and we knew that it would rain all weekend so we made plans for the boys to play on the Wii all day Saturday. I even went to Game Stop and bought a new game. WeSki, Well our plans for a Wii marathon ended about 2:30 when the power went out. Kate and I were taking a much needed nap when the power went out so I didn't know it was out until Jason woke me and told me he was going to ride around to see if he could find out why it was out. The boys by this time were playing nice a quietly in the playroom. When Jason got home we decided we would go on and take them to his mom's since she had power. I started getting their things together and Jason went to sit on the back porch to watch the rain. Out go the boys too! I went back in to get my camera because I knew it would be too tempting not to get in the rain. About that time Will runs in for the umbrella and then out he goes and his brothers follow him! They had so much fun playing in the rain. I wondered for a minute were we bad parents for letting them play in the rain but then I decided there was no thunder or lightening and that this was the kind of thing that is most fun about being a kid. I remember doing the same thing when I was a little girl. We would get a huge water puddle in our yard between our house and the Stroud's house and it was the most fun to play in! I'll post the videos later, for some reason they will not upload. Hope you all do not float away!
Ben's turn with the umbrella
Drew does not even bother with the umbrella, he just takes off running!!
Kate enjoys the rain sitting in Daddy's lap

The new school year brings more homework!

Last year homework in 1st grade was something I did not look forward to. It was awful. This year I have decided that it is not the quantity of homework that is so bad. It is the fact that you have to sit there with your 1st grader while they do it because they can't read everything and understand instructions by themselves. This year it is nice to tell Will, get out your homework, do it and bring it to me to check. This way I know if he his doing it. Well, in reading their weekly instructions are to read with a parent Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday he is to read it all by himself to a parent and then Thursday he is to read it by himself! We did great all week and then this is what happens when he has to read it by himself!! The story was cute but I guess by Thursday he was tired of it!! So, Mrs. Tate if you are reading this, I am sorry Will didn't read last night!! Drew on the other hand is doing so well. Things have totally cheanged with him and his homework. The 1st couple of days it was painful. He fussed about having to do it until his teacher had to have a heart to heart with him at school because he said he can't do it! And by "it" I mean reading. I am so thankful that God sent Mrs. Jordan for him. I wonder if he had a different teacher would she have taken the oppurtunity to make Drew understand that he CAN do it. Just in 1 week I have seen a drastic change in Drew when it come to his learning in school! I have worried about him. Ben on the other hand loves his teacher, Mrs. Huner and likes to go to school but yesterday he said he just wanted to stay at home today. You know he hates leaving the house. I told him he did not have a choice when if comes to school that he has to go or they will put mommy and daddy in jail!! The Kindergarten is doing colors this week and next so Ben has enjoyed getting wear other colors to school besides orange, blue and white! Well, today I finally have nothing to do outside the house, Kate is napping and so I am. See you later! Hope you like my new blog!!

The Tooth Fairy is coming!!

One year ago today, my birthday, Will lost his 1st tooth! Today, Drew lost his 1st tooth!! Drew's big tooth started coming through so we had to start working on getting the baby tooth out only Drew hadn't been working on it like he should. I called the dentist today and they did not seem to be that concerned. This bothered me a little bit since when Will's teeth did that, we have to have them pulled. So, I asked Dr. Wood about it today when Kate had her check up. Dr. Wood said to put dental floss around it and work on it. So that is what we did. Drew sat in the rocker and watched Hannah Montana and pulled on the dental floss. It got to be bedtime and the dental floss had to come out of his mouth only it would not come off. Then I jerked it and out flew the tooth onto our white kitchen floor! I had to get on the floor because I could not find it. Finally, after picking up two pieces of trash on the floor that looked like a tooth I found it!! He did not even cry and he was SO excited!

Yes, I know it is not Christmas! We wear Christmas PJ's all year! They cost too much to only wear them at Christmas!!

Kate is 9 months old!!

Kate was 9 months old on Saturday. I have been rather busy so that is why I am posting 2 days late! We went to see Dr. Wood today for her check up and she said that Kate was perfect but of course we already knew that!!! She weighed in at 18 lbs. and 10 oz!! She was 29" long. 50% for weight and 90% for height. We also went shopping and bought her and me some new clothes. She must like shopping because she was so good. I would never have been able to shop like I did with 1 of the boys. We had a great time together plus it was my birthday so that made it even more special!

Now that Kate is "mobile" she likes to get over on the other side of the TV Cabinet and play peek-a-boo! She thinks it is so funny!

It won't be long before She is standing!!

Happy Birthday Lizzie!

Since Aunt Lizzie has been wanting Kate to crawl she decided today, Lizzie's Birthday was the day she was going to do it! Yes, my baby Kate is now mobile. I can't believe it. Everytime she goes a good way I miss it on camera. Here is a short video of her crawling. The other video is of her trying, then she stops and you can hear Jason ask her if she just wants to stand up and then she tries! She has done that several times today too! I think she may crawl a little and then take off walking. My what will we do then? After she tried to get on her feet she fell back and then started clapping! I turned the camera off right as she did it. It was just precious!!

We have Baby Birds!!

I was so glad to hear baby birds chirping this morning. I check the nest at the beginning of the week after I opened the door and the Mama Bird flew away. The birds were tiny, eyes closed and no movement. I was afraid they were dead. I thought to myself, how I am going to get that nest out of my flower arrangement. So this morning I was ironing in the dining room and heard birds. I got so excited(that is rare for me to get excited about animals! I am not an animal person!) that I got the latter and my camera and went outside to look in the nest. And there the sit, lie or whatever. They had definitely grown since my last peek. Their eyes were open and they had moved a lot. I walked back in the door and Kate was sitting in the living room and I told her "we have baby birds" she just smiled and clapped her hands as if she new she was supposed to be happy!! I then went and told Ben, He was so excited. I showed him the picture and let him stand at the door and listen! He wanted to see them but I am afraid to get much closer. For the first of this post check the archive for July titled Bird on the Loose! Have a great day!!!

Finally, The 1st day of School!

Well, we made it to the first day of school! I did not have to have my alarm clock to wake me up this morning because I had Kate. I think she knew it was the first day of school! I got up at 5:30am and feed her. I laid back down until 6am and went to the boys rooms to turn on the lights.

Drew and Ben did not budge but the light woke Will up. I went on and got their lunch boxes packed and in their bags and started breakfast. I went back in to their rooms to get them awake.
Drew told me last night that he was not going to do what he did in Kindergarten. This year as soon as I came into his room his feet were hitting the floor! Well, that did not happen. He was the hardest to get out of bed. Finally, breakfast was ready and up they got. They all ate a pretty good breakfast.
We were finally all ready and out the door. We will have to try a little harder tomorrow to get out 10 minutes earlier. School starts this year at 7:50 We will have to leave our house no later that 7:20 to get there on time. Will and Drew got out of the car fine, Ben was a little hesitant but thank goodness his Neemama was there helping and she was able to walk him to his classroom. I on the other hand lost it. I cried all the way home. I will be okay, I just wish sometime that time could stand still. I would go back to the days when I had 3 toddlers today for sure. I just can not believe my boys are growing up. As ready as I thought I was for school to start the more I wish it didn't. That just makes time pass by faster. Oh well, I get to pick Ben up at 11:30 today and I am taking him to eat lunch with Press and Walker. I hope you all have a wonderful day! My sister pointed out to me that the boys are dressed in Auburn Colors. Be sure we are not Auburn fans as we have on our University of Alabama belts!!!!
Here is sweet Baby Kate with her brothers on the first day of school.
It was a busy morning! She was out by the time we got to school to drop them off! She's been up since 5:30 so of course she is tired. I have been up too and just as tired!

New Year, New Teachers...

...well for everyone but Will! Last year Will fell in love with his teacher. He had the best year. I worried and worried about who Will's teacher would be for 2nd grade. We knew his Kindergarten teacher well and he loved her and I went to High School with Mrs. Ashley Tate so I knew her. Second grade would be different. There are so many great teachers in 2nd grade so that made it a harder decision. So on conference day, Mrs. Tate told us she was going to 2nd grade. Decision made, we would ask for her another year! It is really great how it all worked out.

After we had had such a good year with Mrs. Tate in 1st grade, I of course wanted Drew to have her. But, Drew didn't want her. You see, Mrs. Tate has a son Joel and Drew wanted to be in class with him again. I talked to Mrs. Tate and she told me not to worry about it that it would be okay. And She was right! We requested Drew be in Mrs. Laurie Jordan's class with his 2 best friends Joel and Cole and that is just where he is! For the 3rd year in a row we have Mrs. Tracie Huner. Ben will have her in Kindergarten and he and Walker are the 4th and 5th children from our family to have her. She is absolutley the BEST! I only hope that in 5 years she is still there to teach Kate. We had a great time at school today dropping off supplies. We ran into all our friends so we are ready for school bright and early tomorrow!

It's School Time!

July 30,2003 I brought Ben home from the hospital. Here he is with his 2 best friends. Walker and Press. Today, August 6, 2008, 5 years later they took their school supplies to school getting ready for their 1st day of Kindergarten! I can not even believe tomorrow is the day they actually start Kindergarten. Here they are again for Kindergarten, the 3 best friends again! Press, Walker and Ben. The picture above is Walker, Press and Ben. They were a little fussy in that picture. They have come a long way.

No more polka dots...

...at least for 2 pair of shorts. This morning I got out the Navy Blue Rit dye and did my best. I had to put them through the dye twice and wash them twice to be able to tell a difference. The polo shirt did not work. And I did not even attempt the sweatshirts. Anyway, it probably didn't save me that much money. I probably could have gotten other shorts on sale as much dye as I had to buy. At least I have enough shorts for Drew and Ben now!! We are off to meet our teachers at 1:30 so I'll have another post later!

Worth Getting up for!!!

This morning I was sleeping so hard and was in the middle of a really weird dream and then all of a sudden I heard Kate talking to herself in her bed. I looked over at my monitor and this is what I saw. Of course I saw her back but you get the picture. When I walked in there she gave me the biggest smile! Just precious. Yesterday was a big day for Kate. I took her to the KD Alum night at TROY and she had 2 firsts there. She got up on all 4's and rocked back and forth (I just knew she was going to start crawling right there in the middle of pref but she didn't) and going from laying down to sitting up!! I guess when she goes through Rush she can tell them she was destined to be a KD since she met 2 milestones in their house!!

Drew is joining the circus!!

Drew as I have said before is my feerless child when it comes to most things. He loves to do flips into the pool and when Billy is over he love to been thrown anywhere, Here is a video of him in the pool Saturday.

Ben's Birthday Party

Ben had to wait 5 days before he could have his party. I figured that was okay since he had had to 2 cakes already. Anyway, he wanted an Indania Jones and swimming party so I put the t2o together and decided we would swim through the Alligator and snake pit to help Indiana Jones complete his mission. I got plastic snakes from Target and found inflatable alligators there too. They had a grand time and the only 2 people scared of the tiny plastic snakes were Misty and Brett!! Ben got plenty of new toys and a new Kintendo game! It was very hot but very nice to get to spend time with great friends!Happy Birthday - Time for yummy cake!
Presents please!!
Kate enjoys her pool too!

Kate decides she is ready to get out!

Polka Dot Uniforms!

In the last 7 years I do not think I have ever been as mad as I was today. You see, I have this lady, Joann, that has been helping us since before Will was born. She is the most yummy cook and is the only reason my house is able to stay in any type of order. Anyway, she is now living by herself and She is the type that always cooks supper. I am not. I do not mind cooking but I hate to clean it up. Well, she had made the comment a couple of weeks ago how hard it was to just cook for one person. I told her she could cook for us then it would not be so hard. She just laughed it off. Well last week we had all just had enough of eating out and she told me I will make a deal with you. She told me if I kept up with the laundry that she would fix us dinner every night minus Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I jumped at the offer and said you have got a deal. So, I have been doing my hardest to keep up with the laundry so it does not get piled up. So today, I was down to my last full load. It was all of the boys navy uniform clothes. Well, my oldest son not my mischievous middle child or my sneaky 3rd child, my oldest a month and a half away from being 8 years old just though he would walk in the Laundry Room and pick up a bottle of Tilex. I thought I smelled of clorox but I have kind of had a stuffy nose lately so I was not sure. Anyway, I asked if some one was spraying clorox and they said no. That Will had been spraying Joann's bottle. I thought okay, because she left her ironing water here. She is such a great ironer I just figured she had some special mix and that it just smelled like that. So, it is time for me to change out the laundry and I go to get the navy clothes. I look down and wonder what in the world are those hot pink dots on the clothes. I get them closer to my face and find that it has had bleach sprayed on them. I literally, at that point thought I was about to blow my top. Take in mind that these are not your uniforms from Wal-mart or Goody's not even the awesome deal I got at the Gap Outlet. It was 1 pair of Ralph Lauren shorts (they were on sale but still), 2 polo sweatshirts, 1 Ralph Lauren Polo shirt and 2 pair of Gap shorts. I hollered for all three of them to come there and then I decided if I wanted the truth I had to remain calm. Will and Drew had just been in trouble and I threatened them, all three of them that if they did not tell me the truth all three of them would get a visit from the Pampered Chef wooden spoon! Drew knew he wanted no part of it, he swore he did not do it, Ben swore it was not him and well then there was Will. He likes to fudge on his stories most of the time and I have learned when he is not telling the whole truth and so he finally admitted it. I held up his polo sweatshirt and asked him if he knew how much that cost and he said fighting back tears "$3000"! I said no about $45. I then preceded to remind him that what is in the laundry room is for my and Joann's hands only. He said "Well I didn't know what it was". So my thoughts, if you don't know what it is why even pick it up. I am still mad because none of it but one of the sweatshirts is his so I can't make him wear it. Luckily I was able to get another pair of the Ralph Lauren shorts. They are corduroy and were on sale for $12. Ben's pair he had from Easter were $40. One of the Gap pair I just found and it was the last pair. The other pair is the uniform short I can get another of and I have an old size 7 navy polo that Drew can wear. But I am still angry. I think since they are already ruined I am going to try to dye them navy. What do I have to loose? It would not be so bad but the fact that the 3 pair of shorts that were ruined means that Drew and Ben don't have but 3 pair to wear between the 2 of them. Here are some pictures of our ruined uniforms!

Is this weird or what?

Okay, so last night we had our last Wonderful Wednesday Church outing(yes, I know it was Thursday, we had to do it on Thursday because we went to Luverne to play putt putt and they are only open Thurs.-Sunday and at night). It was me and my boys and Misty and her boys, Her niece and Bro. David and Trish. We had a great time. It started off going well and then on about hole 5 the boys just kept on playing. Not waiting on anybody. Needless to say we quit keeping score! Afterwards we went to Monarcas in Luverne to eat and Drew (he does not hold back!) says, Mrs. Curtis I want to spend the night with Cole. The Will said yeah and then Cade can stay with me. Then Ben puts in "I want to spend the night with Miles." We said not tonight but maybe tomorrow night. So, the plans are made and all day I had to listen to "When are we going to Cole's?", "Do I get to stay with Miles?" and "When is Cade coming over?" Finally, Misty calls and she is on her way. They get here, I open the door with the boys standing behind me and there the 6 of them stand Drew, Cole, Ben and Miles are all dressed alike, green shorts and yellow shirts. Then both Will and Cade have on Troy Trojans shirts. Keep in mind this was not planned. Me and Misty both have no idea what the night may hold. Her house will be much more alive than my house. I really got the better end of the deal! I told her I felt bad and that I felt like Hayes should spend the night, but he is only 7 1/2 months old! I guess she is a nicer mommy than me because Cole and Miles don't want to leave her and mine beg to leave!!
Oh, well it will be an adventure I am sure!!

Here are some cute pictures of Kate and Hayes. They weren't all about smiling but they are just too stinking cute so it does not matter!!
