One of the many things I love about public school is our awesome art program. This year at TES we have a wonderful new art teacher, Mrs. Lindsey. When you walk in both the ECC and the Big School you can see how talented our students are. Ben had art 1st semester and brought home the best work. Will and Drew never got to do "real" art in Kindergarten. They even learn about famous artist and can tell me things about them that I didn't know. Tonight was the opening of the TCS Art Show and since Will and Drw both have art this sememster they both had pieces chosen for the show. Will had a piece in last year too! I was very impressed with the art from all 3 schools. There were so many different types of art at the show and it makes me so excited that my kids will get to participate as they get older. Will has always loved art. when he was in preschool he learned early to color in the lines and could draw really well and wanted to do it all the time. Drew on the other hand was the one that always used 1 crayon to color the whole picture! He just didn't have an interest in it. So I was so proud of him when I got the invitation to come see his artwork! Not only did he have 1 piece but he had 2!! He still does not like to color but he LOVES art and loves to create his own art! Ben has been more like Will when it comes to coloring and art. I am proud of all 3 of them.

Troy City Schools Art Show

Wedding Parties
It is getting closer to the big wedding in our family and that means it is party time! Saturday night was a Garden and Tool couples party for Amy and Will and they invited my and Jason's friends. We were the "older" couples at the party besides the host and hostesses.
Even though the shower was for Amy, Kate stole the show!
Her boyfriend Hayes came with his mother and they played together for a little while. Thanks to all of you for helping make this special time in Amy and Will's lives so wonderful!
Close Call!
If you do not know, my greatest fear is my house burning down. Therefore, I do not burn candles in my house and I turn off the Christmas lights when I am not at home. My mothers house burned when she was a little girl and ever since I heard that story I have had this fear. Our Saturday mornings for the past 2 months have been spent at First Baptist Church playing Upward Basketball. Ben plays at 8:30 Will and Drew at 11:00. Between games we are usually running errands or we just stay around the gym for the fellowship. So this past Saturday during Will and Drew's game my cell phone rings. It is Richelle, she asked me if it was half time yet and I said no, we have already had half time. She then said well Jason was suppose to call Billy at half time and he forgot. Then she tells me my yard had burned. WHAT? Well, thank God they were coming down the street to witness it or we would have been in for a real shock when we got home.
Apparently, Troy Cable was changing out the line and they dropped it on the power line, that caused them to spark and the wind carried the spark to our dead dry grass. They got their fire extinguishers out and started working on the fire when they looked over on the other side of the yard to see it burning. Thank God they called the fire truck because as bad as the wind was I don't think the cable guys could have handled it had it gotten out of control!
Now, since we have 2 burned patches in our yard I guess we need to do the rest so we won't just have 2 nice patches of green grass this spring! I am guessing that since we were at "Church" that God was looking out for us, Thank you Lord!!!

Too Cute not to post!!
My favorite song to listen to on the radio these days is Single Ladies by Beyonce! I know...but I just love the music not really that in to the lyrics. Well, Kate likes it too and her Aunt Amy is already teaching her to dance! We really need to make plans for her dance studio in the RV garage!! Every time the song comes on the radio she starts moving her hands to the music! I downloaded it from itunes so we can watch her dance all the time! She is just too cute!! Enjoy!!

Thanks Deeda!!
Ever since the boys started Upward Basketball this year they have been asking for a basketball goal at our house. They have one at Neemama and Papa's but not one at home. We have this great house with a big yard but our driveway is a hill. It is not the best place for a goal. One nice thing about our house is that we have a 1260 square foot RV garage in our backyard. No we don't have the RV to go in it but the people we bought this house from did. We have filled it with more junk than you could even imagine. There is everything in this garage...boxes that have not been unpacked since we first moved to our 1st house on Wilson Drive in 2001, toys that have been "thrown away" because the boys would not clean them up, my aunts teaching materials, bikes, riding toys, unused furniture, all holiday decorations, the Jefcoat's lawn mower and other yard things...you get the picture. We have had great plans for this building but just haven't gotten to that point yet so today it became an indoor basketball half court! LA, the man that works for Daddy, kept the boys for me so I could take Kate to the doctor. They love staying with him probably because he lets them do what ever they want. So today when I got to mom's to pick them up they were over at the neighbors shooting basketball with big kids. LA was watching them from mom and dad's porch. Will didn't want to leave because he wanted to shoot basketball. I made him leave anyway because I had things to do at home. Down at the end of our street there is a basketball goal in the cul-de-sac but I am just nervous about letting them go down there when I am not outside and today was one of those days. Will asked me why we couldn't have our own goal I don't even know what my answer was. I told him to call Deeda and see if he would by them one. So, like the awesome Deeda that we have he came and got Will and Drew and off to Wal-mart they went. They called from Wal-mart wanting to know where we would put it, I told him Jason's plans were to put it in the RV garage because it was the only level surface we had but we had to clean it up. So he brought the boys back and told them if we got the garage cleaned out he would by them a goal. We did it! I know you are going to be looking at the pictures and thinking we didn't clean up too good but you should see the pile of trash by the road. And there is still more that needs to be hauled off. Deeda came back to get them and back to Wal-mart they went. I started putting it together and LA got there to help me finish! I might still be working on it if he hadn't gotten there!! Anyway, It is perfect! It also will be a great place for them to go play when it is raining and cold. Maybe we can finish getting the rest of the junk out of there so we can really do something nice in there! I was thinking about a dance studio for Kate so her Aunt Amy can teach her dancing!! Oh well, I can dream. But anyway...Thanks Deeda You are the Greatest!!! We Love You, Will Drew and Ben (Kate, Elly and Jason too)

Gettin' Fitted for the "Man's Suit"
For those of you that do not know, my sister-in-law, Jason's sister Amy is getting married! We are all very excited and are looking forward to the upcoming wedding as it is getting closer by the day! When Amy told the boys she was getting married, she asked them also to be in her wedding. They all said yes they would be in it but Ben said "I am not wearing one of those man suits!" Well, tonight we went for the boys and Jason all to get measured. They have all said that they were not wearing the man suit but when they got there tonight they were so excited! When you are getting fitted they only give you 1 shoe to try on. The boys totally did not understand this. They asked Jason why they were only getting 1 shoe for the wedding!!I can hardly wait to see them all dressed up. The whole family is in the wedding so I hope we will get some really nice family shots all dressed up. Sorry I don't have pictures of Kate and I getting fitted for our dresses but those wouldn't be as cute as these. Rose Wise in Luverne is making Kate's dress and My dress has been ordered and I hope it comes in soon. It is going to be so pretty I just hope it looks good on me. The one I tried on was a couple of sizes too small so it was hard to get "the picture!"
Will had to try on the most coats. He was hard to fit but we finally found one that fit just right!
Drew was 2nd to get measured. He really liked this coat. He had to check himself out in the mirror.
By the time we got to Ben we had this stuff about figured out. I figured he would wear the same size coat as Drew but he didn't and it was a good thing because Drew didn't want to share his coat or shoes!!
Kate had fun looking at her self in the mirrors!
Jason has lost so much weight his neck now measures a 16 1/2. It has never been that small as long as we have been together. I guess I need to loose weight too so I will look as good as he does!!

An afternoon in the Country!
It was so beautiful today that we just had to do something outdoors. Jason and I wanted to go to the farm and ride the "mule". Jason's family has approx. 700 acres in Bullock County and it really is some of the most beautiful land around. I am a true "city" girl and I do not choose to go to the country that often. But when I get up there I have the best feeling. It is almost like being on vacation when all the cares you have at home just slip away! I really love being outdoors up there when it is nice outside. Today, none of the boys wanted to go with us. I guess they had had enough for a while since they have been up there just about every weekend since hunting season started. I on the other hand had not so we left the boys in town and Jason, Kate and I headed to the country. We probably road for 2 hours. Kate loved the ride.
We rode up to what we call the mountain, it is the highest point in Alabama from Montgomery to the Gulf! One day when my kids are all grown I would love to build a house up there! The view is breath taking. I took some pictures of Jason and Kate. She thought is was neat to get out and walk around until she fell and ate dirt!! I was trying to get her picture by the highest point marker when she fell face first in the dirt! She had dirt up her little nose and she scratched it a little! Even though the boys didn't go we had a great afternoon. It is a real bummer to have to get back into the routine tomorrow after a great day like this! Have a good week!
