Ben's Birthday

Ben you know turned 8 on July 28, but we had to celebrate on the 29th. With July birthdays there is only so many things you can do and the most popular party is a...you guessed it...a swimming party! Ben tells everyone "I bet I can tell you what I have worn to every one of my birthday parties." People look at him funny and the he says "a swimsuit!" And he is right! For every one of his parties he has worn a swimsuit! I am hoping soon we can come up with something different! But he loves to swim and he doesn't love much so swimming party it is. This year we just went with a Splish, Splash theme and had beach balls and water guns. He had a good time even though most all of his friends were out of town for his party. I promised next year I would send out a "save the date" notice so everyone would be in town! We did the party late in the afternoon and the weather was great! I remember last year just dying of heat but this year I was able to leave the party dry and not drenched in sweat!! We had a great time and I still can't believe he is 8 years old!

Happy Birthday Ben!

Today my baby boy finally turns 8 years old! He brings so my joy and happiness to our lives. He is personality plus and if you don't want to know what he really thinks you might not better ask him. However, he might tell you anyway. The boy has no filter! He loves any kind of video game and loves to watch TV. He is a homebody, I guess he gets that from his dad because the rest of us love to go, go, go!! 

I love to watch him play baseball! I can remember the first time I took him to MVP Training Center for baseball lessons, he was no good! Will and Drew seemed to catch on so quickly and Ben just didn't have the coordination for it. But now after going for 4 years, he is such a natural!! He played pitcher during the season this year but is best at 2nd base! He plays with this no nonsense attitude and makes it look so easy! I think when he gets older he may want to play football because he loves to watch Alabama Football and he always loves the quarterback! His all time favorite is John Parker Wilson. He uses #14 as his tournament baseball number! 
He is a pretty boy as well and I think he is going to have all the girls wanting to be his girlfriend but he is not going to care! We are so blessed to have Ben, I can't imagine our family without him. Happy Birthday Ben, We love you!!

Vacation time... finally!

We are finally done with baseball and decided we needed to get away! Off to the beach we went with mom, but we left Jason at home! We really didn't do anything but swim, shop and eat! We did meet up with a couple of friends. One of my pledge sisters from Alabama was there with her family and she knew I was there because she saw my post on facebook asking friends for a place for kid pedicure chairs! We met up for breakfast/lunch at The Hangout and it was as if have stayed in touch for the last 12 years!

We also spent some time with Leah and her son Chase. The kids had a ball playing together! After we went to dinner I changed the kids clothes and headed out on the beach for pictures. I think I did a pretty good job!

And it is OUT OF HERE!!!

Tonight we lost a tough game 17-15 to Eufaula but Will hit his 6th home run of the season!! It was a beauty!! I of course didn't get it on film because every time I have my camera on him he does awful. I got the shot of the swing right before the HR and he struck out! We were down by 6 in the 3rd inning and came back 11-6. We had already beat Eufaula 2 times in sub-district so they had it out for us. We made too may errors and you can't win ball games on errors! We won our first game against Troy Americans. We started on the 5th but after 3 innings the game was called because of rain. We came back the next day to finish and we won 6-5. It is so hard playing your friends. Our next game is against Enterprise Nationals. It will be a tough one too! But I am so proud of Will! He had a great game!
