Coach Pitch District Tournament

Ben's 1st game was scheduled to start on Friday, June 24 but before they even got to start we went into a rain delay until Saturday. Our 1st game was against Eufaula and we had no problem taking care of them. On Monday, we played Enterprise American which was no problem either. We had already beat them in a practice game. Tuesday's game got rained out and we were scheduled to play the other Troy game. We were both undefeated coming in to that game. We resumed play on Wednesday against Troy National and we were on fire. I wish I could have counted all the outs Ben made at 2nd base. He is such a natural! We beat them 20-7. We went to Kinston before our game so we could watch Walker. He played for the pitching machine team and we had not gotten to see him play yet. Thursday we came back to play Eufaula again. They had come out of the losers bracket to play us. We beat them again and Troy Nationals ended up playing Enterprise National again but this time in an elimination game. They beat them in a great game which put Us and them in the Championship game. You always hate playing your friends because it is so hard to pull against them but in this game Troy was winning 1st and 2nd place!! Where Ben was on fire against Troy in our first game, he didn't play so well in the Eufaula game. The key for Ben to be on fire is chocolate! Yes I know you think I am crazy but Last year in a coach pitch regular season game he spent the night with Lizzie and he had chocolate ice cream for breakfast! He was on fire. The game when we went to watch Walker, he had a box of Milk Duds at his game and he had an amazing game against Troy N. When we played Eufaula, he didn't have chocolate and he wasn't so hot. So, before the championship game I fed him a Hershey's chocolate bar! He was on fire again, He made every out just about at 2nd base and turned 2 double plays! I was so proud of him! He is so much fun to watch. He made friends with the outfield ump, Judy. She even tied his shoes and he told me she was the best because she was giving him pointers on his hitting. She told him to always take the 1st pitch and then hit. He did it his next at bat and got on base! He hits really good but had just been hitting right into the glove of the other team! These boys played hard, practiced a lot. Even at 6:30 some mornings. It paid off because we brought home 1st place!!
