Ben's Special Visitor

This year in Ben's class his teacher has a special friend that gets to come home from school for the weekend with boys and girls that have had a good week. Evidently, Ben had a great week! He was so excited when he got in the car Friday, he immediately pulled Journal Bear, the special friend, out of his bag to show me! He said "I had to be good 2 more times to get to bring him home and I did it!" When we got home Ben took him right to the den to show him how good he could play the Wii!

Since it was Friday night it was time for some CHHS Football. We found Journal Bear some clothes and took him to his first football game. Since Jason and I were both sick with the crud we watched the game from the Cevera, Ralph and Reeves sky box. It was nice. The boys had a great time and Journal Bear thought he was real special!

Journal bear met some new friends and played with old friends.

Saturday morning Ben had a soccer game. Since 4 of his classmates are on his team, Journal Bear wanted to go and watch them play. They won the game 2 - 0! Journal Bear was so proud of them!!

A couple of weeks ago Walker got to take Journal Bear home and Ben spent the night with them. Well, Walker just happens to be staying with us tonight since his mom and dad went to the Alabama v. Georgia game. So here are Ben, Walker and Journal Bear going to bed.

Sunday morning we all got dressed in our best for Church.

Walker and Ben's friend Maggie goes to Church with us so they all had their picture made with Journal Bear in Children's Church. After Church Journal Bear went to Mama Sally's but we forgot to take his picture!

Sunday night is dinner at Bibbie and Deeda's and Journal Bear went for his last outing with Ben before he has to go back to school! Ben took good care of him and made sure he was included in everything!

Roll Tide!!!

Roll Tide Roll!!! I must admit I had already set myself up for a loss today and I was okay with it so you must know how excited I am that the TIDE ROLLED tonight. Elizabeth and Brett went to the game. Brett is a Georgia fan!! We have Walker and Lacey and we all went out to Wendy and Kevin Watson's to watch the game. We had tons of little Bama fans around. They had their own little game going on outside. I debated on leaving at half time because Kate was so tired. I knew if I left we would quit doing good. I decided to leave, Kate and her rest was more important than football! I was right about us leaving though. As soon as I got home and the game started Georgia started scoring. Luckily we were able to hold on to a GREAT Win!! I just hope we play this way come November! Roll Tide!!

And P.S. I did cheer for Auburn today. I HATE Tennessee. And one last Go Rebels!!!

Neat Website

I stumbled across this website from another blog I stalk. She posted it on her blog and it is really cool. It is www.dumpr.net/sketch.php All you do is upload your picture and it turns it into a drawing. Here are some that I have done.

Soccer Night

Last night was soccer night. Will and Drew and Ben's games were at the same time. I sat between fields and watched 2 games at one time. It was hard because both games were close games. Ben's team won their game 2 - 1. Will and Drew's game ended in a 2-2 tie. We had to have a kick off. Good thing was Brock and Will both scored to give us 4 points, bad thing was the other team scored too so we still ended in a tie. It was a real bummer because they played much better than the other team and their coach was a bear - a female bear. She complains about everything. Anyway, Ben's team had pictures so we had to get their early. It gave me some time to get some pictures of my own. Last year when Drew was on the ALL-Stars he, Walker, Ben and Press had the numbers 1,2,3 & 4 on their jerseys. This year Drew moved up but I was determine to give the boys the same jersey numbers but Press ordered a larger shirt so he got the last number on the team which was #19. So this year Ben, Walker and Press were 17,18, & 19. Then I get Will and Drew's jerseys and they were 15 & 16. I did not ask for those jerseys they just gave them to me that way. So I had to take this picture. It is so cute. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Roll Tide!!

Community Helpers visit the Kindergarten

Mrs. Huner's Class

Today was Community Helper Day at Hank Jones Early Childhood Center. Visiting from the City of Troy was our Police Department, Fire Department and Utilities Department. Coach Sikes talked to the kids about bus safety and showed them all the ways they could get off the bus if it were an emergency. They won't get to ride on it until May!! But they know the correct way to ride on it and know when they have to be quiet!! Also, visiting from Montgomery was Haynes Ambulance service. It's ashamed that our own Ambulance Service in Troy, Care Ambulance would not come to Community Helper Day. And tell me why they call themselves "Care Ambulance Sevice?" The paramedics were great with the kids. They showed them all the things they may have to use on them were they to need an ambulance. The kids got to touch and feel IV bags and other tools. They also got to walk through the ambulance to see what it looks like on the inside. The postal workers were too busy to come today so the kids didn't get to mail their letters they wrote to their parents. So Elizabeth mailed the letters for them. It was a fun day for all!!

Our first stop was the school bus. Here Ben is finally getting on a school bus! He has wanted to get on one for 2 years!!

There are Walker and Ben in the back of the bus. They look so small!

Poor Kate couldn't get on. It wasn't stroller accessible!!

Jade Fleming was one of the Utility Workers that came. Here he is showing the kids how he goes up in the bucket. He lowered a hook and tried to get one them to attach it to their beltloop but he had no takers!!

Kate thought that was neat too!!

Ben checks out the inside of the police car. The police officer was standing in front of the car waving at him. He saw her on the monitor inside the car.

The kids really liked the fire truck. They got walk through the back. In the picture Buford Stephens helps Ben out of the back. He is so great with the kids! He graduated from high school with Jason and me.

Ben and his friends - Apollo, Walker, Press and Scott Taylor

Will's Birthday Party

For Will's 8th birthday he wanted a baseball party. All he ever wants to do is play baseball and that is what he wanted to do for his birthday. We have the best place for this in Troy at Camp Butter and Egg. Ron and Susan Pierce have the ideal home in the country or as Drew says "Mr. Ron lives in the last house in the city limits"! It is absolutely beautiful out there and any little boys dream. Not only is it surrounded by woods, there is a pond for fishing and a baseball field!! There also is putt putt golf, Rock climbing wall and many other things to keep them occupied. So this was our choice for Will's party. Mr. Ron lead the kids in a 3 inning baseball game. Before the game, they played putt putt and threw giant Frisbees. Will said it was the best party he has had. I think everyone had a great time and Will's team won the game! Everybody did really great and Brock H. hit the only home run!! Will got no telling how many gift cards from Wal-mart and Hibbits. It will take us forever to spend them all. He got some new games for the Wii and a Wii Fit! We had a great time. Here are some pictures so you can see how wonderful Camp Butter and Egg is. For those of you that live in Troy, I highly recommend it for a party. The Lodge was perfect for the eating part of the party. It was nice not to have to fight the flies!!
Playing a little putt putt
Playing dodge the Frisbee!
Picking teams
The baseball field
Will up to bat
Ben on 1st base
Kate watches from the car with Bibbie
Drew is on 3rd
All Will's friends and family!!

Kate is 10 months old!

Yes, Kate turned 10 months old today on Will's birthday. She is just so precious! I had a hard time getting a picture. Everytime I put her down and tried to get her picture she started crawling to me. I finally got a cute one of her. She is such a good baby. I am really getting sad that she is almost 1 year old. Where does the time go? And yes, that is a scratch on her nose. My fingernail did it on accident when I went to get her out of her carseat lastnight. It broke my heart. She cried and still gave me love!!! How sweet!

Gifts for Will

When I asked Will what he wanted for his birthday, he said he wanted an Alabama room. He LOVES Alabama football!! I could not bare to re-do is whole room so while shopping at Wal-mart trying to find something to give him on his birthday I came across this Alabama blanket. I would really like to go back for one for myself because it feels so good. He Loved it!
Then I found this Alabama throw pillow and I thought that would be okay on his bed. He Loved it too!! They had sheets too and I figured I could handle them every other week when the sheets had to be changed. But, they didn't have sheets for a full size bed only twins. But if you want Auburn you can get them in any size!!! Mom found some at the beach so he will get them at his party. They had a comforter set too but it looked really cheap so I could not buy it.
I got him a cake so we could sing Happy Birthday! We had to eat Mexican since that is his favorite. I am sick of it but it was his choice! We had a great time and he made sure that none of us told the waiters. He did not want to be sung to in Spanish!! Anyway, we had a great day and we are looking forward to a great party on Saturday.

Happy Birthday Will!!!

Eight years ago today, our oldest son, Will was born. It was the most wonderful day. We had tried and tried to get pregnant and things just were not going our way. We finally ventured down the road of infertility treatments. After nearly 2 years or more on January 24, 2000 we found our we were expecting our first child. We were so excited but scared too because I had had a miscarriage in November. Everything continued just fine. I did not have much sickness just tired a lot. It was an easy pregnancy. On May 17, 2000 we found out our baby was a boy! I was a little shocked. I knew he was a she, I was wrong! Anyway, his due date was October 5, 2000. Mama Sally had said maybe he will come on Vickie's birthday (Jason's Mom) which is September 18th. I said oh no he can't come then that is too early. Little did I know that just was not early enough for him! When Will was born, Jason was working nights, he had just gotten home and settle into bed and asleep at about 1:30am when I sat straight up in the bed. I got up went to the bathroom and then went back to bed. I thought my water had broken but I wasn't sure. I laid back down and prayed to God "If this is it, please let it gush" and a few seconds later it gushed. Jason got straight up, we got our things and called our parents. Mama Sally and Grandaddy had just gotten to Nashville for vacation at Opryland hotel! They still say Will owes them a night of vacation!! Anyway, those of you that know Jason know that he drives like a snail! We lived on First Avenue at the time and the speed limit is 25. He was going about 70 down our street. I have never been in the car with him driving that fast. We got to the hospital close to 3am and Will didn't make his arrival until 3:16pm It was a long day but I would do it over again any day just for him. He is the best Big Brother (most of the time!) He had to grow up fast since is baby brother came so close to him. He is kind, loving, creative and very well mannered. He is smart and athletic everything you want in a child. I am so proud of him and most of all feel so blessed that I can be his mother!!
He weighed in at 7 lbs 8 oz and was 21 inches long when he was born. Now 8 years later he has grown into a big healthy boy! We will have a check up soon and I can let you know then! It is hard to believe that he is 8, it has been the best 8 year I could have ever asked for!! Happy Birthday Will...I love you!!

Our Soccer Girls

On Ben's soccer team, we have the 2 most adorable girls in all of Kindergarten. They are both in Ben and Walker's class. During the game they were defenders. At least I think that is what you call them. They were standing on the line in front of the goal defending it! Anyway, we weren't getting much action on our end of the field, which is good for us but not for the other team! They (the girls) were trying not to get bored! They were being such "girls" that I had to get a video of it. I just Love them!! Do know they went on to do cartwheels and dance a little more but the video gets cut short because Will poured water down my pants. yes, cold water while I was already wet and cold from the rain. I was sitting in a chair leaning forward a little. It looked like I had wet my pants! I am guessing it was an accident. I do not think he would have done it on purpose! I hope you enjoy! Maybe I can post more next game!

Soccer Season begins in the rain!!

Yes, today was the opening night of soccer and it was raining. We played anyway. The kids probably had a blast but is was too cold for me! Ben's team played first. His team is the All-Stars. This is his 2nd year on the team so he knows a little more what he is doing.
For the 1st three periods he played goalie and only let 1 get passed him! Parker was the lead scorer for our team, he scored 4 goals, Apollo scored 2 goals and Ben scored 1!! His very first goal! He was so excited. we won our 1st game 7 to 1. This team has huge shoes to fill as we have been #1 in the league for 2 years! Will and Drew were on this team their 1st year playing so we have just hung on to it. It will be sad when we can't be the All-Stars anymore.
Ben is playing again this year with Walker and Press. Brett, Billy and Parker and Tal's Dad are helping Jason coach. Anyway, Will and Drew had their game next and they played great. This is Will's 2nd year in this league and Drew's 1st. I am amazed at how much better they are this year. They finally are not afraid to get in there after the ball. Will scored 2 goals and Drew came close. He is as fast as lightening! I told him I didn't know where he got is speed because I have NEVER been a good runner and Jason can't run either. So, someone down both lines of our family is a runner and that is where Drew gets his speed. Will and Drew's team is FORCE and they got their 1st win too!!! Oh, and it finally stopped raining by half-time in Ben's game.

A little bit of everything!

This is Kate and her boyfriend Hayes playing while we watched the Alabama game. We watched the game last weekend over at Elizabeth and Brett's and the Curtis Family came even though they are Auburn Fans! See we do love something about Auburn...only our Auburn Fan Friends!!!
Here is Kate trying to make Bama realize that even though they are not playing a team like Clemson they should play like they are!!

Kate finally weighs enough to turn her carseat around. Her Dr. told me as soon as she was 20 lbs. that she was big enough. Last week when I took her to the Dr. she weighed right at 20lbs. I do not think she really likes it. She cried most of the way to Montgomery on the 1st day she was facing forward. I think she liked looking at herself in the mirror instead of watching CARS the movie. That is what her brothers were watching. They had Dentist appointments with Dr. Cumbus so we took the day off from school and headed to Montgomery!
After the dentist appointment we were all starving so we went to Chappy's for lunch. Feeding 3 boys has gotten expensive so Chappy's is the best place to go! Children 6 and under eat free, I have 2 of those and children 7-12 eat for $2.50. You can't beat that. Plus the food was delicious and we got a free ice cream cone. And look who had her first try of chocolate ice cream!! She loved it! She could not get enough!
This picture would have been really cute but it is not close enough. She had ice cream all over her mouth. She couldn't wait until I shared more!!
The boys were being silly with their ice cream! They were celebrating having no cavities!! That is something to be proud of since they are responsible for brushing their own teeth. Of course I have to tell them to do it but still!!! I was proud!!
