Visit with the Easter Bunny

Every year I take the kids to see the Easter Bunny. They know that Easter is not about the Easter Bunny but it is something I started, I so I feel like I must continue to do it. I love to look back at each picture from the previous year and see how much the children have changed. As you all know from my post about Disney World and Santa Claus that characters are not Kate's favorite thing! She likes to look from a distance but does not like to get too close. The same thing goes for the Easter Bunny. She, the bunny, had to hide behind her house so Kate would come sit down. Once I had them in position the bunny snuck up behind them and we snapped the picture! This is what we got! She had no idea that the bunny was behind her!! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, we plan to because I love Easter. And I love Spring.

What a game!!

Ben has really proved to be a great little baseball player! Tonight he caught a pop fly for an out and hit an in the park homerun!! I wish I would have taken pictures or video. When he caught that ball he had to look at his glove to be sure the ball was there!! He had a triple plus the homerun. He had another hit but got out at first. His team won their 2nd game tonight.

Drew's team won their game also but there was a time when I thought we may lose it. The first couple of innings were so boring that the infield minus the catcher and pitcher were playing in the dirt! Yes, I know that is what you do in t-ball not pre-minor!! Drew played a good game though, at 4 at bats he got on base 3 times with 3 good hits his 4th hit was good too but they threw him out at 1st.

6 games down between the 3 of them and a million to go!!! Will is back on the field Thursday night. We play the Braves and 2 of his travel ball team mates play on that team so it will be tough.

Will pitches his 1st game

Tonight was Will's 2nd game but his 1st chance to be on the mound. Will came in during the 2nd inning to pitch. He did an awesome job and I am so proud of him. Even though his daddy was keeping the books, I have no idea what his stats were because Jason couldn't remember, said he was too into the game and concentrating on Will. He came out in the 4th, which was the last inning, but got the win!! The Astros won 9-8!! I am so proud of him. I know he will get better as the season goes on. If he can just get a hit I think he will feel better!! I think he only had 2 at bats and struck out once and walked once! We will go again on Thursday! Here is a short video of him pitching thanks to Dylan! I got more but it is long and doesn't show the ball going across the plate.

Let's Play Ball

Finally, baseball season has begun and I am so excited!! It will be very busy but that is okay! Last night was opening ceremonies. It is held every year at Memorial Stadium. All the teams were announced as the boys ran across the field.

The 1st picture we have of the Reeves/Curtis boys began with just Cade and Will. Look at them all now!!
Cade, Will, Drew, Cole, Ben and Miles

Every year we take a picture of the Reeves, Curtis, Jefcoat's and Stallworth's. This year the Dunn's were finally added to the picture as Benton is finally old enough to play t-ball!!

Cade, Will, Drew, Cole, Walker and Press
Ben, Miles, Payne and Benton

All the boys were so excited to play today. All 3 of them played great! Will and Drew played at the same time so since Jason is one of Will's coaches, I went to Drew's game and Jason was at Will's of course. Drew played 3rd base and made an awesome play. He stopped at grounder to 3rd and threw it to 1st to get the runner out!! He has one heck of an arm on him! All three times up to bat he got a hit. 2 of them to the outfield and another infield which got him out at 1st. He plays on the Phillies with he best friend Cole and 2 of his best friends from Pre-school, Ty and Payne. He was so excited! They won their game!

Drew playing 3rd

Drew at Bat - this one popped up at 2nd base and into the outfield

Will plays for the Astros. He got one good hit but got out at 1st and then struck out twice. One of his best friends struck him out his last at bat and he was pretty bummed out about that but Jason said he played great defense! They lost but that is okay. He his playing with another one of his best friends Brock. They have been on the same team since t-ball!! I don't have pictures of Will playing since I wasn't there. I am hoping Liz or Tracie got some and when I get them I will post them!!
Ben finally is out of t-ball!! He moved up to farm league this year and it is coach pitch. He got 3 great hits and played great in the outfield. He played 2nd base. He drove in a lot of runs when he hit and scored all 3 times he bat. His team is the Red Sox and he got his 1st win today too!! He told me after the game that he was pretty good at the Farm league ball!! He and Walker are on the same team this year and Brett is their coach!!

Spring Break 2010

Spring Break this year was too early. March 8-12, and it was cold and windy! We headed down on March 7th, on a Sunday. It was just me, Kate and the boys. Jason had to stay behind to work!! Mom, Elizabeth, Lacey, Christina and Walker were already down there. We really didn't do that much. We went to Lulu's for lunch one day and the kids had a ball playing in the sand! That restaurant has the best atmosphere for kids! It was not crowded at all, because no one else in the state had Spring Break so early!! We went shopping in Foley one day. We left that morning planning on going to Easter Shore Center but all of a sudden my car started dinging saying "low oil pressure, stop engine now". So, I pulled over checked my oil which was fine and then called my dad. He told me where to take it so I did. They told me to take it somewhere else. The guy at the 1st place said take it here (I can't remember the name of the place), they can hook a machine to it and tell you exactly what was wrong. So, that is what I did. The guy said the oil pressure sensor was out and he could fix it but it wouldn't be ready until tomorrow. I left the car with him and Liz came to pick me and Will up. The next day he calls and says, "mam, we have a problem. I replaced the oil pressure sensor but your oil pump is bad. It will cost over $1000 to fix it". I told him I would call him back. Another call to my dad, he thought something was fishy so he called Bill Jackson. Bill Jackson told him my engine was still under warranty so they could fix it. They seemed a little surprised that the oil pump was broken since they have never replaced one in 15 years on a car with less than 100,000 miles on it. Dad sent a wrecker to get my car and tow it back to Troy. When they got the car at Bill Jackson, the oil pump was fine, the oil line was clogged!!! Always, get a second opinion!!! Since that delayed our day, went went to Cosmo's for lunch, were Kate ate crawfish tails for the first time and LOVED them!! After lunch we decided to just go to Foley to the outlets. We didn't have much luck with anything good, but we did get the boys new flip flops. We stopped at The Fudgery and watched them make fudge. Drew flirted with the girls that work there!! They flirted back!! If you are ever in Foley at the outlets stop in and watch, it is really neat and they sing while they do it. It really is entertaining!! I did break down and take the kids to the arcade one day only because no one else was there!! They loved it. I remember loving it as a kid too. We would go to Funland in Panama City. My favorite game was skeeball!! I still love it to this day!! Finally on Friday, the wind stopped blowing and the sun came out. The kids attempted to swim. Will was able to stay in longer than the others since he has more meat on his bones. Ben tried to swim everyday. He couldn't take "no Ben, it is too cold" for an answer! The first time he got in he got out so fast that he was nearly walking on water!! After we got through swimming and playing outside, we got ready and went to the park. The kids had so much fun. Especially Kate. She loves to swing and slide. We decided to head on back to Troy on Friday afternoon to surprise Jason. He was expecting us on Saturday when he got off work he was so excited to see us!! It was really great to get away. I am looking forward to going back when it is warm!!

You all know that Kate LOVES make-up. While I was putting mine on, she got into my mascara!!

Happy 13th Anniversary

13 years ago today I married my best friend. Funny I say my best friend because we have been best friends since 8th grade. My excuse for never dating him was because he was my best friend and you don't date your best friend. What happens if you break up, then you lose your best friend, right!! That was what I always told him. Some days I think back and wish we would have dated, and then sometimes I am glad we didn't. Everybody in high school thought we dated because we sure fought like we were dating. I guess then I had feelings for him deep down but was just too scared of them. You know what they say, you have to get through the bad ones to get to the good ones and that is what I did!!
It seems just like yesterday when we were married. When I look back on 13 years of marriage I remember all the good times we have had and all the memories we have made. Out of the 13 years there was, in a way, one bad year, well I won't say bad because I received one of the greatest gifts of all that year too. It was 2007, that is the year Jason had a horrible time with his back. He had back surgery in June and instead of getting better, he got worse in a sense. I was pregnant, and had 3 boys I was taking care of myself and it was hard. I see now that God was using that time to test us and I think we passed the test just fine!!
Another thing that I think about is when I am folding towels. I can't believe all those towels we got as shower gifts 13 years ago are still in 1 piece! Now there are some that are ripped and some that have Clorox stains on them but they still get us dry!! I remember being so excited when all of my china came in. It was just like Christmas! I was able to get 12 place settings of my everyday china and flatware but after 3 boys I still have all 12 place settings of my china (because we eat on paper plates) but I have 4 salad forks and small spoons, 6 big spoons, 8 dinner forks and 9 knives left!! I guess it is my fault though since I make them eat on paper plates! We have been through probably 4 or 5 sets of cups. Every now and then I find my kitchen utensils in the yard including the spoons I have left! So I can honestly say that life is an adventure around here!!! And Jason, I guess what I should have told you all the times you asked me to date in high school is that you know you don't date your best friend...YOU MARRY THEM!!! Thanks for being a wonderful husband and father!! I love you!!

Ben's art makes the Art Show

This year Ben had his very own art picked to go in the Troy City Schools Art show. It is an annual event where art teachers from all 3 schools select art to go on display for the community to view. I am glad I am not the art teacher at school because she must have a hard job picking the very best. Any day you walk into TES you can see how creative our students are. They, without a doubt have the best art teacher around. Our school is so blessed to have Jennifer Lindsey as our art teacher. She is always coming up with new ideas and the kids love it!! We are so proud of Ben. Of the 3 boys he is the least interested in art so when he had a piece chosen we were so excited!!! Here he is standing under his "pirate ship masterpiece"!
