A Visit with the Easter Bunny

Since it was suppose to be raining today Jason and I decided to take the kids to see the Easter Bunny. It is something I have always done since Will was a baby and so it something I do every year. I think I will probably make them all go until they are married!! Just Kidding!! I don't know how long though, I guess when Kate says that is enough. Poor boys will be mortified that they still have to go when they are 10, 12 and 13! That is what happens when you have a baby sister!! I think Will felt a little old today and was not that excited to go and then we saw one of his friends from school going to see the Easter Bunny so that helped!!Kate was all about the bunny while we were waiting our turn but when I sat her in his lap she started to cry. We were able to get a good picture anyway! We had a great family afternoon. We all got a cookie well Jason didn't but the rest of us did and then we road the merry-go-round!! Kate was not so sure of that either until it was about over! I hope you all have a great week leading up to the most important holiday of the year, Easter. And even though we celebrate with Egg Hunts and Easter Bunnies may we remember the true reason for Easter is to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Baseball Begins

Today began baseball season! We are on 3 different teams this year and today, on opening day, we all played at 10:30! I can't give you a play by play of each game because I only saw 2 innings of each game. It was rough! I started off with Will's game. He moved up to Pre-Minor which is pitching machine. I was worried a little bit because the thought of a machine throwing a ball at my son is a little nerve racking!! But anyway, he plays for the White Sox and they were visitors today. Will bats 4th. At his 1st at bat he hit a double and brought in 2 runners!! He then scored when the next batter hit so I let his game to walk across the parking lot to see Drew and Ben. When I left Will's game the score was 4 - 0! Drew stayed in Farm League this year and it is a coach pitch league. He plays for the Red Sox and he bats middle of the line. I made it over to his game just in time to see him and Walker bat. He whacked it! He came in and scored and I walked over to the next field to watch Ben play a little. Ben is in T-ball again this year and he plays for the Braves! His daddy is his coach! He was the last batter today so he hit a Grand Slam home run!! In our T-ball there are no outs. Everybody hits and everybody scores!! Therefore everybody wins in T-ball!! I only watched him hit once because I went to see Drew hit one more time before I headed back over to Will's game. Drew got another great hit and brought at least 1 maybe 2 runners in. At the end of Drew’s game he hit a triple and almost made a home run but the other team called time. Anyway, they won 17-5!! I got back over to Will's game and the score was 8-6 with us in the lead. Will plays 1st base and I got wind that he was not very alert so when we were in the outfield I had to go stand over at 1 base to keep him in the game. He got 4 hits and I think 5 RBI's. That info is from him and not his coach so I am not sure if that is correct! They ended up winning 17-13, they played great to keep the other team from coming back and beating them. It was a great day to start off the season! Kate did pretty well. Thank God we have several people helping watch her! She was cute as pie in her Just Ducky Originals outfit I designed for her! I am going to post several pictures of the boys in action! Have a great weekend!!

Praying for Stellan

Prayers for Stellan

About 6 months ago I stumbled across this blog My Charming Kids. I stayed up to date for a while and just got busy. I shared it with my friend Misty and she is consumed by it so she always keeps me up to date. Anyway, the blog is about a family with 4 children 4 and under but when I started reading it many of the post were keeping their friends and family up to date of the upcoming arrival of #4. A baby boy who they were told would not be born alive. I am not going to give you the details because you really need to go back and read for yourself here. Baby Stellan is a true miracle and anyone that doesn't believe in God should after reading his story. Anyway, Misty had ask me the other day if I had checked in on Stellan and I said no, She told me I needed to so ever since I have been consumed with his story. I do not know these people but I ask that you please pray for this family. I know God hears every prayer so please place Stellan and his family on your prayer list. Take the time to ready his story, it will warm your heart and fill it with much love, joy and hope.

Happy Anniversary Jason!!

12 years ago today I married the most wonderful man I could have ever dreamed of. We have been best friends since 8th grade and I guess deep down I have loved him since then. It wasn't until 1995 did I realize I would spend the rest of my life with him. I think he had known it since 8th grade. He has always been smarter than me!! I thank you for waiting for me to come to my senses! And Thank you for putting up with me. I know sometimes I can be real difficult and I am sorry! I thank God for bringing us together and I love you more today than I did 12 years ago!! I hope to have many, many more years together!!

More than I ever dreamed of!!

This weekend was absolutely beautiful, and I am not talking about the weather I am talking about Amy and Will's wedding! Everything was so beautiful but not near as beautiful as the bride!! We had such a wonderful time and everything went off without a hitch!! Friday night we had the rehearsal and dinner. It was just wonderful. The decorations done by Martha Lynn and Rob Drinkard and others from Jean's Flowers were awesome. I have never seen the Pines looks as beautiful as it did that night. They did a great job!!

Saturday was even better! Amy's cousins surprised her with breakfast and began to help start off her day! It was so very special! We all got to the church at noon to get ready for pictures that were taken by Wes Roberts Photography. His staff was so great and I can't wait to see all the memories he captured. He said he probably took over 2000!!! Amy was the most beautiful bride! Of course I knew she would be because she is beautiful everyday! She and Will are so lucky God brought them together. I wish them many years of happiness!! I love you both!!

Mrs. Carla giving the boys a talking too!!

My favorite picture. This was the 1st time Mama Sally saw Amy in her wedding gown! It was so sweet!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

For those of you that do not know, Dr. Seuss would have been 104 years old today. In honor of his birthday it is Read Across America Week! Ben was dressed liked The Cat in the Hat for school. Drew and Will didn't get into the dressing up part that much this year. Drew wore his hat but Will would not even do that! I guess by the time you are 8 you are too cool!! Ben was most excited about his cat tail that I made him out of Will's black baseball sock!! He was so excited this morning! Once he got to school his teacher, Mrs. Huner painted his face like a cat and gave him a bow tie! He looked so cute by the time I got there! Something special about have a dad that is a "VIP" is that he gets invited to come read to your class!! Jason has read every year to the boys classes and this year he made it to ALL 3!! His favorite Dr. Seuss book is "Green Eggs and Ham"! I of course go too so I can be the photographer. I am not that good, but you know I try to capture all things special the boys do! Both Will and Drew fell asleep coming home from school on Dr. Seuss day when they were in kindergarten but Ben didn't make it, he fell asleep during nap time at school! Mrs. Huner said it took 3 of them to wake him up! It is a busy day!! And cats do like to sleep!!

Snow, Snow, Snow

I am glad that it only snows every 7 years!! The last time we saw snow it was January 2, 2002. Will was 1 and Drew was 2 months old. The boys always ask when will it snow and well you just never know in Troy. Today Gramps woke us up at about 5 minutes until 6am. We got up and looked out the window to see snow! We woke the boys up and none of them were too excited to get up to play in it. Finally we were able to get them up and dressed and out we went! We didn't stay out long because it was too cold! We would not make it if we had to live in this stuff! We came in, had breakfast and by that time it had stopped. We got ready for church and as we are sitting in sunday school it starts again. This time blowing a lot harder than it did the first time. We even went out in it at church for a few minutes! They were a little more excited about it this time. By the time church was over, it had stopped. We got to Mama Sally and Gramp's house and while we were sitting at the dinner table down it comes again. Blowing even harder!! This time it was sticking!! We came home to get in warm clothes to play one more time. It was fun for about 5 minutes. It is just too much trouble to get all bundled up! Kate loves it. I think she just loves to be outside, she doesn't care about the weather. The boys were able to get enough snow this time to make a couple of snow balls! I will be totally glad to wait another 7 years for snow! Like I said it was fun for 5 minutes. It has finally stopped again for the 3rd time! I am hoping we are done. I don't want to have to take a snow day tomorrow!!
